Monte Hellman

Monte Hellman is an American director, producer and editor best known for having directed the great road movie Two-Lane Blacktop (1971). He also directed the two westerns Ride in the Whirlwind and The Shooting, both shot in 1965 and starring Jack Nicholson. Hellman was also an executive producer on Reservoir Dogs. When contacted about five films he loves, he replied : “I can name five films I love, but don’t have the inspiration at the moment to say something original about them, other than that they moved me deeply.”
